6x9s

Standard

A little background on this piece. This song is about being 17, knocking up your girlfriend, deciding to get married and having a shit storm hit between you, your family and the girl who is pregnant. During this time I would drive around listening to music and it was just about the only time over a two year period I was somewhat happy.

A funny story about my addiction to driving around listening to music. When Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime came out I couldn’t get enough of that album. I would tell my wife I needed to run up to the store to get something and would drive around and listen to the entire album, run into the store real quick, get something so my story stayed accurate. She was certain I was cheating on her, when all I was doing was listening to Mindcrime.

6x9s

My entire world is pointing their finger at me
What will I do, where will I go
They’re all waiting to see
And their breathing down my neck
Ripping me to shreds
And I only wish that they’d leave me be

But I have my car
My 6x9s
I have mindcrime
Playing on the alpine
Everything’s fine
As long as I have my 6x9s

I have my Jensen 6x9s
Piece of Mind
Playing on the alpine
Everything’s fine
As long as I have my 6×9’s

My entire world is crashing down around me
How will I be able to raise a baby
I guess we’ll see
And I’m losing all my sleep
With chaos at its’ peak
And I only wish that they would help me

But I have my car
My 6x9s
Holy Diver
Playing on the alpine
Everything’s fine
As long as I have my 6x9s

I have my Jensen 6x9s
Somewhere in Time
Playing on the alpine
Everything’s fine
As long as I have my 6×9’s

Flashback to a year before
I spent a week carpeting my car
And building a box for my new speakers
To impress a girl
Now this car’s my only solace
Now this car is my palace
Now this car is keeping me alive
I drive all night just to survive

But I have my car
My 6x9s
Last in Line
Playing on the alpine
Everything’s fine
As long as I have my 6x9s

I have my Jensen 6x9s
High ‘n’ Dry
Playing on the alpine
Everything’s fine
As long as I have my 6×9’s
